Why school choice is gaining momentum across the country…
Hi friend, this Denisha Merriweather Allen from the American Federation of Children.
The last few years have been transformative in the fight for school choice. In many ways, this past election was a reflection of that.
Here’s why parents were SO MOTIVATED to get out there and voice their concerns this November.
The COVID-19 pandemic gave parents a unique glimpse into the daily lives of their kids at school.
The result?
A MASSIVE shift in public support for SCHOOL CHOICE in America.
For so many families, one look at their child’s curriculum over Zoom was all it took to want a change. For countless others, distance learning just didn’t work.
Why? Because a one-size-fits-all approach to education is NEVER the right fit for any individual student.
We believe that when funding for education follows students to the school of their choice, families and kids win.
We’re fighting for students across the country who don’t yet have that option.
Our organization believes school choice should be available to ALL, regardless of skin color, background, or zip code, so students like Walter Blanks can attend a school that works for them.
As a public school student, Walter felt like an exile in his own land, words he drew from the great Reverend Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have A Dream” speech.
