Friend, of all women and girls alive today, approximately 200 million of them are survivors of female genital mutilation (FGM). Another 68 million are at risk of being cut by 2030 – but together, we can ensure that these girls never know the harm of mutilation.
Before International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation ends at midnight tonight, we need to know where top supporters like you stand on the issue. So tell us ASAP: Should we end female genital mutilation? ([link removed])

For Dania, the trauma of being mutilated has stayed with her for nearly 50 years. She recalls being asked to come to the bakery with her mother one morning when she was a girl. She recalls happily obliging — and then she recalls the stomach-dropping moment when she realized too late that it was a trick to get her to willingly walk into her own mutilation.
“That day, I experienced fear, deception and excruciating pain. I was only seven.”
Today, Dania is working with UNFPA to raise awareness about the lifelong harm that FGM brings upon its survivors — including chronic infections, post-traumatic stress disorder, and childbirth complications. Dania is fighting to ensure that her generation is the last to undergo female genital mutilation – but she can’t do this without your help.
