More than 500 miles of wildlife-friendly fencing converted in Sublette County

PINEDALE ? Wildlife-friendly fence conversion is nothing new for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and its partners. But the amount of work done over the last five years in Sublette County is nothing short of impressive. Since 2017 more than 500 miles of fence has been converted to the wildlife-friendly variety as part of the Upper Green Wildlife-Friendly Fence Initiative, and close to 700 miles of fence has been converted to wildlife-friendly throughout the county over the last decade.


Nominations being accepted for Wyoming Youth Conservationist of the Year

CHEYENNE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department wants to recognize youth who have made significant contributions to the outdoors. Game and Fish is accepting nominations for the Wyoming Youth Conservationist of the Year award. The award honors a Wyoming resident 18 years or younger who has demonstrated leadership and accomplishment in any aspect of conservation, either individually or as part of a group.


Wyoming Wildlife photo contest winners announced

Wyoming Wildlife magazine photo contest

CHEYENNE ?The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is extending congratulations to the winners of Wyoming Wildlife magazine?s annual photo contest. Photographers of all ages showcased their skills in the 53rd annual contest, which received more than 3,000 submissions. The grand-prize winner for best overall photo titled, ?Slap shot,? came from Savannah Rose Burgess of Jackson, Wyoming.


Game and Fish congratulates employees on years of service

CHEYENNE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is congratulating four employees on their years of service to the State of Wyoming. The following employees celebrated a milestone work anniversary in January:

  • Ray Hageman, Videographer, Headquarters ? 25 years
  • Brian Baker, Senior game warden, Dubois? ? 20 years?
  • Thomas Graham, Application development supervisor, Headquarters ? 20 years?
  • Clark Johnson, Fisheries biologist, Jackon Region ? 10 years
