Dear John,
“I wanted to help but didn’t know there was an election.”
Those were the words of a parent frustrated by problems in his kids’ schools but had no idea the deadline to file for the school board election was approaching.
Our challenge is to make people aware of the ways we can change the status quo, starting with the May 16 School Board election. Here are 3 key facts you need to know:
School boards are responsible for who teaches your kids. In some districts, Planned Parenthood has been brought into classrooms.
Your school board can stop curriculum that pushes a pro-abortion agenda.
School boards can install school-based health centers, which can facilitate transportation of students to health care—which they get to define—and charge it to the parents' insurance without notification.

While it’s not easy, we can win school board elections. They’re nonpartisan, which usually means very little information is known about the candidates, so most people won’t vote.
Any coordinated effort to get out the vote (GOTV) has a huge impact. In the past, our efforts have more than doubled turnout in nonpartisan elections. This means you are the reason for pro-life victories. Let’s do it again.
Right now, we have two things you can do to help.
Run for school board. The deadline to file is March 16th. To learn more, please visit ortlpac.org/schoolboard [[link removed]].
Support our GOTV efforts. [[link removed]] By donating, you help us make more voter contacts and get more pro-life advocates out to vote. And it’s a new year, so your $50 ($100 if married filing jointly) donation is likely eligible for the 2023 political tax credit.
