News from Congressman Bill Foster

Dear Friend,

Last year, I was proud to vote for the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA): a landmark piece of legislation that tackles inflation head on and will help lower health care costs for millions of Americans.

Because of this legislation, Illinois residents on Medicare are already saving money, including those who rely on insulin to manage diabetes. Under the IRA, insulin costs are capped at $35 per month - that includes co-pays and out-of-pocket costs at the pharmacy. Additional rules that will save seniors money on their prescriptions, including capping their annual drug expenses at $2,000 per year and allowing Medicare to negotiate lower prices for certain drugs, will phase in over the next two years.

For more details about how this could apply to you, visit here.

As your Member of Congress, I’m committed to fighting to protect and expand Medicare, and pursuing sensible policies that will lower health care costs for all Americans.

As always, if you need assistance working with a federal agency, please don’t hesitate to contact my office by using any of the numbers listed below.

Sincerely,

Member of Congress
