Thanks to Governor DeSantis, Florida is THE leader in keeping education free of discriminatory indoctrination. This week, the Governor announced that Florida is DEFUNDING the woke DEI bureaucracy in public colleges and universities.
This bold announcement, among other reforms, will focus Florida’s higher education system on preparing students to be contributing members of society who think critically, engage with a wide range of viewpoints, and understand the philosophies that have shaped Western civilization.
Florida is empowering parents and ensuring students receive a high-quality education — not indoctrination.
On Wednesday, Governor DeSantis announced his Framework for Freedom Budget proposal for 2023-2024. The budget builds on Florida’s successes, under the Governor’s leadership, as the state continues to outpace the nation in building a robust economy, safeguarding students’, parents’, and teachers’ rights, restoring our environment, and keeping our communities safe.
The Governor’s proposed budget ends sales tax for family necessities including diapers, wipes, clothes, strollers, and cribs, as well as over-the-counter pet medications, and gas stoves.
“Florida’s focus on freedom has led us to outpace the nation on all fronts. Through the Framework for Freedom Budget, we are establishing freedom first policies to benefit Florida workers and families and to provide a framework for future prosperity. Florida will fight against federal headwinds by putting forth sound fiscal policies that keep more money in the pockets of Floridians. Our budget proposal not only builds on the successes of the past four years, but ensures that Florida will continue to thrive.”

First Lady Casey DeSantis met with Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian on Friday to award funding through the Florida Disaster Fund to organizations that have supported Southwest Florida communities through ongoing recovery efforts. First Lady DeSantis highlighted the important role that donations from the Florida Disaster Fund have in cutting red tape and filling in where the federal government has failed to deliver relief to Floridians in need.
“As a mama, I know how important it is to know your children have a bed to sleep in every night, which is why I was honored to award funding that will support long-term recovery in Southwest Florida. I am also appreciative of our private-sector partners who donated hundreds of mattresses, sheets, building supply items and doors that will help make so many families feel like they have a home again. The people of Southwest Florida are so resilient, and we will continue to seek out meaningful ways to make their recovery easier.”
