?Michigan is home to some of the nation?s largest insurance companies, many of which have a strong need for employees with a variety of skill sets, expertise, and backgrounds,? said DIFS Director Anita Fox. ?Nationally, nearly half of people currently working in insurance are expected to retire in the next ten years, so this is a great time for workers in this state to investigate what a career in the insurance industry could do for you, your family, and your future.?

According to the Insuring MI Future Coalition, a 501(c)3 created to raise awareness of career opportunities in Michigan, careers in the insurance industry tend to be stable and high paying, with an average salary of $60,000, substantially higher than the average of $45,000 for other industries.?More information about the insurance industry is available on the National Insurance Careers Month website.
