John, Last year, three months after I retired from the United States Navy, I felt a different call to serve. The nation I spent my adult life defending was quickly turning into the country I ran away from. Our rights, secured under the Constitution, are being stripped away in the name of equity and social justice. I entered the race for Virginia’s Tenth Congressional District with the grassroot support of men and women just like you; Americans who want to believe that our best days are ahead of us.
Even though we didn’t win, we moved the needle so far, and came so close to flipping the Tenth District, that it captured national attention. We also learned valuable lessons and I vowed that I would take those lessons to help improve the landscape of Virginia and the rest of the country. That is why we launched Unleash America PAC. Unleash America PAC is dedicated to supporting leaders and policies that strive to embolden American resilience and ingenuity. My parents risked everything, including their lives, to bring us out of Vietnam and into this incredible nation of opportunity. We came to the United States with nothing, but through hard work and perseverance, we made a life for ourselves. I attended top schools in the nation, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and the United States Naval Academy. I earned a master’s degree in physics from the Naval Postgraduate School and pursued fellowships at MIT and Harvard. I paid back this country’s gift of freedom to my family with twenty-five years of service in Special Operations. I believe in protecting the American dream and I am not done fighting.
Through Unleash America PAC, we have an opportunity to support strong, decisive leadership who serve us, not special interests. We will use the lessons learned from the 2022 elections to turn the tide and restore hope in the American dream.
