It’s never been more important to elect Dem AGs who vow to protect abortion rights in their state.
Friend,
When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, they overturned nearly half a century of federal abortion protections. While we mourned the Court's decision, DAGA didn’t delay. We recognized that abortion protections and access would now be left up to the states, and we jumped into action to support the elections of 16 pro-reproductive rights Dem AGs in 2022.
Friend, Dem AGs are fighting like hell every single day to protect reproductive health care. Here are just a few examples:
California AG Rob Bonta told reporters last month that he’s “determined that the 50th anniversary of Roe will be the darkest one — that it only gets better from here, that freedom of choice can one day again be unfettered, fully protected under the law at the state level first and then one day again, nationally.”
New Mexico AG Raúl Torrez recently urged the state Supreme Court to nullify abortion ordinances that local conservative officials have passed in their cities in attempts to restrict reproductive rights.
Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum just announced the launch of the Oregon Reproductive Rights Hotline which will provide free legal advice to anyone in need of guidance after the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Dobbs.
Michigan AG Dana Nessel went on MSNBC to say that Dem AGs are making it a priority to not only protect people who live in their states, but also those who visit their states in search of safe abortion care.
This is the kind of leadership that everyone deserves, and if we want to protect abortion access, we need AGs who will stand up and fight for it in every state.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
