Hi,

In just a minute, I'm going to ask you to split a contribution — of any amount you can afford — between my campaign and Senator Martin Heinrich of New Mexico. I hope you’ll give me a chance to explain why your contribution is so important.

Here is the deal:

In 2024 there are twice as many Democratic Senators up for re-election as there are Republicans. That means that we’re going to have to start laying the groundwork right now to make sure we keep our Democratic majority in the Senate.

That includes re-electing Martin in New Mexico. And trust me when I tell you that your contribution right now will go a long way toward setting his campaign up for success in the long run.

But keeping our Democratic majority is not the only reason I’m asking you to support Martin’s campaign — I’m also asking because Martin and I have a lot in common. If you support me, I think you’ll have a lot of reasons to support him as well.

Like me, Martin is the son of an immigrant. His parents worked hard as a union lineman and seamstress to provide a better future for their family. Both of our parents believed in the transformative power of education, and instilled in us the value of service to others.

Also like me, Martin is an engineer. He’s all about following the science and using the data to find solutions to the difficult problems we face, like addressing climate change and building our renewable energy infrastructure.

And here’s one MORE thing we’ve got in common: we both rely on grassroots supporters like you to help power our campaigns and keep making progress for working families in California, New Mexico, and across the country.
