As governor, Roy has been a steadfast advocate for our educators, students, and public school systems. Growing up, his mom was a public school teacher, and he went through North Carolina public schools, too, so he knows how critical quality public education truly is.

Roy is determined to ensure that our public school system has the funding to help every student succeed.

Unfortunately, North Carolina currently ranks 48th in K-12 per-pupil funding.

No matter where they live or how much money their parents make, every child in our state has the right to learn. Our schools must be able to prepare students for a competitive job market, and students must be ready for postsecondary education or vocational training — whichever is right for them.
