As we celebrate Black History Month, I’d like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the contributions that the Black community has made here in my district and across Nevada.

This month, we’re remembering Black Americans who have made lasting impacts on our community and continue to shape our country today.

From Civil Rights leaders who pushed our country to live up to our promise of equality, to the trailblazers and community activists who continue to pave the path forward. They have left a long-lasting legacy in Nevada and show the strength, resilience, and determination of the Black community.

While celebrating Black History Month, we must also acknowledge the systemic injustices that Black Americans continue to face. I am determined to do all I can to safeguard equal rights and protections under the law.

This Black History Month, we must reaffirm our fight for justice and equity for all.
