[[link removed]]Monarchs are truly magnificent creatures, beloved for their vibrant black and
orange patterns. Right now, these little pollinators are hibernating for the
winter months. But this spring, there’s a chance we won’t see as many of these
colorful critters fluttering about -- Bayer-Monsanto’s Roundup is wiping out milkweed, the plant where monarchs lay their eggs, and the only food source for their
growing caterpillars. Without milkweed, monarchs don’t stand a chance. We need at least 14 people
from your city to make a $27 contribution before midnight
tonight if we are going to make a difference for monarchs and our planet and
meet our $2,130 goal!

When endangered monarch butterflies complete their epic 2,500-mile migration
back north in the springtime, they lay eggs along their journey to repopulate
the next generation of monarchs. But as the use of herbicides like Roundup has
grown over the years, it has decimated the only food that monarch caterpillars
depend on -- milkweed -- making it increasingly difficult for monarch young to hatch and survive.
In fact, without milkweed, monarchs don’t even have a place to lay their eggs!
The eradication of these precious insects would be devastating -- yet companies
like Bayer-Monsanto continue to mercilessly put profits over pollinators,
people, and the planet.
Don’t let monarchs be driven to extinction: Donate $27 immediately and help us
reach our $2,130 goal before the clock strikes midnight!

[[link removed]]The incredible migration of the monarch butterfly can span hundreds to thousands
of miles over five generations. Yet each generation knows its destination thanks
to an internal “compass” the monarchs follow.
But pesticide companies like Bayer-Monsanto seem to lack a moral compass --
continuing to sell glyphosate, the key ingredient in Roundup, no matter the cost
to our planet.
The use of Bayer-Monsanto's Roundup has increased by over 2,600% from 1987 to
2016. This toxic weedkiller has virtually wiped-out milkweed -- the only food source
for young monarchs -- across the U.S.
And to make matters worse, a recent study highlighted a frightening fact: every
single sample of milkweed collected was contaminated with pesticides -- one-third with levels deadly to monarchs. Young monarchs are hatching on toxic pesticide-riddled milkweed, and their
first meal may be their last.
The dangers don’t end there, Friend. Glyphosate is listed
as a probable carcinogen and is associated with developmental harm in humans,
along with disruption of the gut microbiome, kidney toxicity, and fatty liver
disease. Farmers are suing Bayer-Monsanto due to high rates of non-Hodgkins
lymphoma linked to the Roundup they’ve used on their farms. Roundup is causing
extensive harm that must be stopped before it's too late.
Help us stand up to Bayer-Monsanto. Rush your $27 tax-deductible donation and
help us reach our $2,130 goal by midnight tonight!

[[link removed]]Monarch butterflies are facing a perfect storm of threats, including pesticides,
habitat loss, and climate change -- all of which are fueled by fossil fuel
corporations and Big Ag. These factors affect all pollinators, but monarchs are
at particular risk because of their reliance on milkweed.
These endangered backyard beauties are dying out rapidly. And Bayer-Monsanto continues to further threaten their
survival -- all to rake in profits.
At Friends of the Earth, we know how to beat Big Ag and save endangered species.
Our strategy includes a nationwide ban on toxic pesticides that are wiping out
bees and butterflies. At the same time, we will continue to push major grocery
companies to stop selling food grown with pollinator-killing chemicals. And make
no mistake, we will be pushing the Biden administration to get these toxic
pesticides out of our food system.
Our plan has the power to win game-changing protections for monarch butterflies,
people, and the planet over the next four years. But we don’t have much time,
Friend, and we need your membership support to make it
happen! With your gift today, you can help us save our pollinators and move us
from toxic, pesticide-intensive agriculture to a healthy, organic, and just food
system, protecting monarchs and our planet.
The clock is ticking for endangered monarch butterflies. Help save this iconic
species from extinction: Donate $27 or more today to help us reach our $2,130
goal!
