Republicans were touting their victories before votes were even cast
Friend,
In the months, weeks, and even days ahead of the 2022 midterm election, all we heard about was the impending “Red Wave.” We know that Republicans don’t respect the will of the people, but it was still jarring to see so many Republicans touting their victories before votes were even cast.
But then something incredible happened: People like YOU showed up, made their voices heard, and beat those candidates who peddle Trump’s Big Lie: The so-called “Red Wave" never came to fruition (look who’s laughing now) in the key battleground states:
Josh Kaul won re-election over his opponent who wanted to let county prosecutors cross county lines to prosecute patients and providers over abortion.
Dana Nessel defeated a rabid Trump loyalist who tried to overturn the 2020 election and doesn’t believe in any abortion exceptions for rape, incest or the life of the mother.
Aaron Ford won his second term by beating an opponent who said he should be hanging from a crane and wanted to lock women up for getting abortions.
Kris Mayes flipped the Arizona AG seat by defeating a Big Lie supporter who is still claiming he won an election that’s been over for months.
We know that when you’re just a few months post-election cycle, it’s tempting to take a step back and not think about politics for a while… but there’s simply too much at stake for us to lose momentum now.
From abortion rights, to environmental justice, to upholding and defending our very democracy, there’s so much on the line in 2023 and 2024 — we’ve got to start preparing for the fights to come, and we can’t do that without your support.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
