• Take transit to all your sporting events in Seattle this weekend. Metro and Link Light Rail serves riders heading to T-Mobile Park, Husky Stadium, Lumen Field and Climate Pledge Arena;
• Seattle Center Monorail?will operate on its normal schedule this weekend. The Monorail will depart approximately every 10 minutes;
• Water Taxi?continues its?seven-day-a-week service?throughout the winter. The seven-day-a-week?service will run from approximately 6 a.m. weekdays (8:30 a.m. weekends) to 7 p.m.;
  • Please be aware that during our winter sailing season, King Tides or high winds could create conditions that impact schedules. It may be necessary to?reduce speed?to protect the vessel on the Vashon route. More information;
• We recommend riders arrive at their bus stop a few minutes before the scheduled departure time of their trip;
• Riders can use?Text for Departures?by texting their stop number to 62550 to get next departure times;
• Remember, it's free and easy to?sign up for?email or text alerts?about King County Metro service. Alerts can be tailored to your favorite route(s).

Transit service update Feb. 6-10: All routes operating

King County Metro will operate all bus routes Feb. 6 through Feb. 10, however some individual trips will be canceled.

Our maintenance crews are making steady progress on fleet repairs and are working with vendors to stabilize ongoing supply chain challenges affecting our industry. We appreciate your patience while we complete this important work. Across King County, Metro is delivering about 97% of our typical 11,000 weekday trips.

Safe sailing in winter: protecting passengers and vessels

Winter can be a challenging season for those who travel on the water.

Winter storms and higher tides can bring additional floating debris to the surface of the water that would normally be onshore, making it a challenge to navigate.

For passengers on both the West Seattle and Vashon Water Taxi that means an occasional choppy and slower ride. Our vessel crews are focused on the safety of our passengers, the vessels they?re riding on and the environment we are part of.

All of our Water Taxis are equipped with radar that give the captain the ability to detect larger objects; however, it can be difficult to detect smaller floating debris when the water is choppy.

Even with the best of equipment, when there?s a lot of debris in the water, captains on both of our Water Taxi runs, Vashon and West Seattle, reduce speed to protect passengers and the vessel. ?

We thank everyone riding with us for their patience as we travel through the waterways that make our region so special. It may take a little longer, but we?ll safely get you where you want to go!

Recognizing Metro?s Operators of the Month (November-December 2023)

Every month, operators from King County Metro?s seven transit bases select their fellow drivers for their positive contributions to Metro and recognize them as Operators of the Month. The operators selected demonstrate safe driving skills, show courteous and helpful attitudes toward customers, and pay conscientious attention to attendance, appearance, and discipline.

Please join us in congratulating them. The Operators of the Month have the privilege of coming together later to vote on who among them will be Metro?s Operator of the Year!

Metro celebrates Transit Equity Day!

Transit Equity Day is a collaborative effort of several organizations and unions, celebrated at the beginning of Black History Month to commemorate the birth of civil rights activist Rosa Parks on Feb. 4, 1913. It is a day to promote transit equity as a civil right and a strategy to combat climate change.?

King County Metro's General Manager Michelle Alison and ATU 587 President Ken Price share a joint Transit Equity Day message on the Metro Matters blog.
