URGENT: TELL THE SENATE TO CONFIRM JUDICIAL NOMINEES NOW
Federal judicial nominees are waiting to be confirmed by the Senate. President Biden’s nominees for lifetime judgeships are mostly women, mostly people of color, and mostly public-interest lawyers, unlike any other president. But we need the Senate to confirm them.
Confirming these judges is critical to ensuring that environmental policies are protected and voting rights laws are upheld. This could be the difference between protecting people and the planet versus corporate power and pollution.
Will you contact your Senator to make sure that pro-democracy, pro-environment judges are confirmed without further delay?

Yesterday, fifteen of President Biden’s judicial nominees were passed out of the Judiciary Committee, and they are now headed to the full Senate for confirmation. Other great nominees are still waiting to pass out of committee.
Friend, the vast majority of these nominations have been pending since the last Congress. We need the Senate to confirm these judges — it is the single most important thing the Senate can do right now to protect democracy and the environment.
President Biden made a commitment to diversifying federal courts by prioritizing women and people of color more than any other president. He is also nominating public defenders, civil rights lawyers, and others with experience working for the people, not just powerful special interests.
With a pro-democracy Senate majority, we can get these nominees confirmed. But we need the Senate to prioritize these important nominations. Tell your senators: there’s no time to delay. Confirm these pro-democracy, pro-environment judges right now >>
Here are some of the judicial nominees we’re urging the Senate to confirm right away:
- Rachel Bloomekatz, who would become the first public-interest environmental lawyer to serve on a federal court.
- Dale Ho, an esteemed civil rights lawyer who has spent his career fighting for voting rights. He has been waiting for his confirmation since 2021.
- Nancy Abudu, another leading voting rights lawyer, who would be the first Black woman to serve on a powerful court in the Deep South.
- Brad Garcia, who would be the first Latino judge on the DC Circuit — a court with extraordinary power over environmental protections.
- Julie Rikelman, a leading reproductive rights lawyer whose personal experience as a refugee from the Soviet Union led her to a career fighting for individual rights.
We need judges who reflect our country’s diversity and protect the people’s rights instead of attacking them. These nominees are highly qualified and have proven they understand the importance of a justice system that works for everyone, not just powerful corporate interests.
But nominations are not enough — the Senate must move to approve these incredible nominees so that they can get to work protecting our rights and our future.
The time for delay is over — the Senate must act. To protect our environment and democracy, senators must prioritize confirming the backlog of highly qualified judicial nominees. Take action now. Tell your senators to move quickly to confirm pro-democracy, pro-environment judges. The future of our democracy and planet is at stake.
These confirmations have a direct impact on the future of climate action, voting rights, clean water, and the rights of the people in this country. Thank you for fighting alongside us, Friend.
Onward,
