John, I'm so grateful to everyone who was able to support this campaign during our first month of the election year — whether by chipping in a few dollars, sharing our message on social media, or telling a friend, family member, or neighbor about my candidacy.
I remember well what it was like to run my first campaign in 2017. It was a true grassroots effort, and already, I'm feeling so much of the same energy for this election.
Just as folks were fired up six years ago to elect champions for progressive values in the wake of Donald Trump's election, folks are fired up to elect strong leaders who can permanently stop Glenn Youngkin's dangerous policies from taking hold in our Commonwealth.
The last time I was in Richmond, I helped lead the effort to expand Medicaid for more than 500,000 Virginians. I'm running to build on this progress, to keep reproductive freedom the law of the land, and to build a transportation system that works for every community.
All of this is on the line if Democrats do not keep the State Senate in November, and my race is critical for securing our majority. That's why I cannot thank you enough for your early support — it really will make a difference down the line.
