John, everyone deserves a living wage and a contract that dignifies their labor.
Right now, Temple teaching and research assistants are currently on their first strike in union history after over a year of negotiations with university administrators to bargain a fair contract.
Temple owes its strength and success to the work of its employees, and they deserve a fair contract. Will you join Helen and all of us in standing with them in solidarity?
Helen visited Temple’s campus yesterday to join a rally to support the hundreds of striking workers. She spoke about how unions make Philadelphia strong 💪 and called on Temple to deliver the fair contract that these workers deserve.
“I want everyone to know that the eyes of the nation are on Temple University and all of you today. What you are doing here on this campus is making a statement to the entire country that graduate students, adjuncts and all others who make universities work deserve a fair contract, a living wage and decent benefits that are deserving of any university that claims to be world class.” - Helen

Graduate students are an integral part of higher education, and Temple's administration should return to the table and negotiate a contract that dignifies their labor with a living wage, healthcare for dependents and families, and better working conditions for the employees they rely on.
Temple is a leading research institution, with campuses around the globe, but it would not be possible without the hard-working graduate students who teach classes and assist professors with research.
Stand with us in our support of these workers because they make Temple the great institution it is and must be. >>
In solidarity,
Team Helen
If you’re ready for a Mayor who will stand in solidarity with hard-working people all across Philadelphia, then please consider supporting Helen’s campaign today.
