The House passed Rep. Chris Pappas’s (NH-01) bipartisan bill, the Expanding Access to Capital for Rural Job Creators Act, to examine problems small businesses in rural areas face when they attempt to access capital. H.R. 298 ([link removed]) will expand the Office of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation to include rural small businesses, ensure that the concerns of rural businesses are heard, and ultimately deliver rural businesses the tools and resources they need to thrive.
Brownley, Kuster Introduce Legislation to Incentivize Sustainable Practices and Reduce Food Waste ([link removed])

Julia Brownley (CA-26) and Annie Kuster (NH-02) introduced H.R. 651 ([link removed]) , the Cultivating Organic Matter through the Promotion Of Sustainable Techniques (COMPOST) Act and H.R. 652 ([link removed]) , the Zero Food Waste Act, to redirect food waste to composting projects and reduce the amount of food wasted in the U.S., respectively.

Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) and Lou Correa (CA-46) introduced H.R. 717 ([link removed]) , the Repatriate Our Patriots Act (ROPA), bipartisan legislation that would create a pathway to citizenship for deported veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. McBath, Wild Introduce Legislation to Provide Safety Net for Student Loan Borrowers ([link removed])

Lucy McBath (GA-07) and Susan Wild (PA-07) introduced H.R. 644 ([link removed]) , the Student Loan Borrower Safety Net Act, legislation that would ease the transition back into repayment for student loan borrowers by increasing outreach, simplifying enrollment in more affordable repayment plans, providing protections for those who miss a payment during the transition, and more.
Peters Reintroduces Bipartisan Legislation to Protect American Workers Against Noncompete Clauses ([link removed])
Rep. Scott Peters (CA-50) reintroduced H.R. 731 ([link removed]) , the Workforce Mobility Act, bipartisan legislation which protects American workers by prohibiting employers’ ability to force employees to sign noncompete agreements except in certain cases. The bill’s reintroduction follows the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announcement proposing a new rule to prohibit enforcement of noncompete agreements nationwide.
