John-
Dan Crenshaw here.
This week I exposed the glaring hypocrisy of the radical environmentalists who continue to block American energy production… even for their beloved solar and wind projects. I also continued to fight back against the taxpayer funded, anti-gun activists at the ATF and outlined my plan to protect Americans from the Mexican drug cartels.
As always, thank you for your support.
Here’s your brief:

WHAT DO THE RADICAL ENVIRONMENTALISTS WANT?
|
|
But what they don’t say and what they don’t want you to know is that it is precisely the activism of the same radical environmentalists that is blocking ANY energy production from happening in America, including new solar and wind projects and electric vehicles. Let me explain.
It takes A LOT of raw materials to develop renewable energy. For instance, a 100 megawatt wind farm requires 30,000 tons of iron ore, 50,000 tons of concrete, and 900 tons of non-recyclable plastics. If we want to meet the left’s renewable energy goals, we would need to increase production of lithium by 500%, cobalt by 460%, and graphite by more than 400%. The problem? Radical environmentalists have a militant opposition to the mining that is required to retrieve these materials.
In Oregon, we have massive lithium deposits. But activists have halted mining activities that could support the production of 1 million electric vehicles annually. Why? To protect the sage grouse - which, if we’re being honest, is basically a fancy chicken. In Nevada, lithium mining is being blocked because of a random species of plant called the Tiehm’s buckwheat that apparently could be endangered but serves no practical purpose (at least not to the extent that it is logical to block mining for lithium for the sake of this plant). Even when companies that wanted to mine lithium in Nevada provided proposals to relocate the Tiehm’s buckwheat so their projects could move forward, the environmental activists refused. And most recently, Joe Biden canceled mining leases on land in Minnesota that would give us copper, nickel, cobalt, and more materials that are all necessary for renewable projects.
Now, to be clear, renewable energy is really only viable from an economic and energy production standpoint with MASSIVE government subsidies (aka your tax dollars). But the radical environmentalists won’t even let us produce the materials here in America that would allow us to use these renewable energy sources where they make sense. They’d rather us import solar panels from China, which are made using slave labor. They don’t want oil and gas. They don’t want the materials necessary to build out renewable energy. All they want to do is virtue signal about climate change and offer ZERO legitimate solutions that would help us continue to reduce our emissions while also providing reliable, affordable, American-made energy. And Joe Biden is happy to appease their radicalism.

THIS IS WHY THE ATF PISTOL BRACE BAN IS SO ABSURD
|
|
The sole purpose of the ATF under President Joe Biden seems to be attacking law-abiding gun owners. The ATF does this constantly, and did it again most recently with their unilateral ban on pistol braces. Tens of millions of Americans use pistol braces and they would immediately become felons if this ban is implemented.
Let’s just answer some basic questions about pistol braces to prove why this ban is so absurd:
Do pistol braces make a gun more deadly? NO.
Do pistol braces make a gun shoot faster? NO.
Do pistol braces modify a gun to turn it into an “assault weapon?” NO.
Pistol braces are used by people with disabilities, including a lot of veterans. They provide stability when firing a gun for people who may have trouble stabilizing a gun on their own. In fact, you could argue that pistol braces make guns SAFER because you’re less likely to shoot something you’re not aiming at when the gun is more stable. It is basic commonsense.
Unfortunately, the bureaucrats at the ATF under Joe Biden don’t operate as commonsense regulators trying to keep people safe. Instead, they operate as mindless anti-gun activists who simply look for any excuse to attack the Second Amendment rights of Americans. The good news is that, with a Republican majority in the House, Congress has the opportunity to intervene and pass legislation like my ATF Accountability Act. This bipartisan bill would allow small businesses who manufacture or sell these braces to appeal the ATF’s rulings when they make nonsensical decisions (like the pistol brace ban) and get a resolution in a timely manner. This appeals process exists with virtually every other agency and allows Americans to petition their government for redress of grievances without having to take the federal government to court, which for average Americans is simply unrealistic. It’s time to apply that appeals process to the ATF, which is exactly what my bill does.
You can help make sure my bill gets to the floor by demanding House Republican leaders schedule it for a vote so we can finally stand up to this overzealous agency that continues to attack law-abiding gun owners.

HOW DO WE STOP THE DRUG CARTELS FROM KILLING AMERICANS?
|
|
We are at war with the Mexican drug cartels, whether we want to admit it or not. The Mexican drug cartels are smuggling fentanyl into this country, which is killing tens of thousands of Americans every single year. This represents a purposeful poisoning and killing of Americans at the hands of a well-equipped, militarized enemy that has full operational control of our southern border.
That’s why I re-introduced two pieces of legislation that would give us the tools we need to neutralize this threat:
The Declaring War on the Cartels Act
An Authorization for the Use of Military Force Against the Cartels
The Declaring War on the Cartels Act would greatly expand our government’s ability to go after the cartels. Under my legislation, foreign governments that coordinate with cartels or do not take the necessary action to stop cartel activity in their own countries may be sanctioned and lose any financial aid from America. It would also authorize punishment for anyone convicted of aiding cartel-related crimes with 15 years in federal prison and naturalized citizens could lose their citizenship if they are convicted.
The Authorization for the Use of Military Force (or AUMF) gives President Biden the authority to take military action against the cartels if necessary.
Under Democrat control of Washington, our border has been taken over by the Mexican drug cartels. Now that Republicans control the House, we should start showing the American people we take this threat seriously and pass these bills so that Democrats are forced to either help us solve this problem or admit to the American people that they have no will or plan to stop the cartels from killing Americans.
Republican leadership controls the floor of the House of Representatives and they could schedule these widely-supported bills immediately. I’m going to keep demanding they do just that and you can help make sure that happens by demanding the same thing.
