Restoring Commonsense Kansas Values This week I had the honor of presiding over the House Chamber for the first time in the Republican majority. I am committed to restoring commonsense Kansas values to the halls of Congress and getting our country back on track. The decision to receive the COVID-19 vaccine should be between an individual, their family, and their doctor—not mandated by Joe Biden and the federal government. I was proud to vote in favor of the Freedom for Health Care Workers Act on the House Floor this week. I voted YES on the SHOW UP Act. This bill will end teleworking for federal employees and require them to return to the office. Kansans are expected to show up for work— Washington bureaucrats should have to do the same. President Biden's failed energy agenda caused gas prices to reach the highest level in American history this summer and heating costs to soar this winter. I voted in favor of the Strategic Production Response Act this week to help put our nation back on the path toward energy independence. First Hearing of the Oversight Committee The Oversight Committee held its FIRST hearing of the 118th Congress! I’m committed to bringing much-needed accountability to Washington for the first time in over two years and delivering an agenda that gets America back on track. We will be investigating the rampant waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement of over $560 BILLION in federal COVID relief programs. Watch HERE President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas continue to turn their backs on the worst border crisis in American history. On the Oversight Committee, I will hold the Biden administration accountable for this national security & humanitarian disaster and put forward solutions to finally secure the border. The CCP is a growing threat to America's national security. The new Select Committee on China, created by House Republicans, will work to counter the CCP's unchecked aggression.  Read more HERE National Girls and Women in Sports Day This week we recognized National Girls and Women in Sports Day! I am proud to support the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. A bill that ensures school athletic programs uphold Title IX and that only women can compete in women’s sports. National Prayer Breakfast "If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under." - Ronald Reagan  Great attending the National Prayer Breakfast this morning to begin today in prayer.
