Notes From the Frontlines: Prayer Is Action
As I write this email, Minnesota Senators are debating the lethal "Protect Reproductive Options" Act which, along with other deadly elements, would legalize abortion up to live birth. Our Policy and True North Legal teams have been fighting on the frontlines at our Capitol to thwart this extreme bill which, if passed, would put Minnesota's abortion laws in the company of wicked regimes such as
China and North Korea.
Additionally, our Church Ambassador Network team has been prayerfully meeting with legislators on both sides of the political aisle, speaking God’s truth where it is so desperately needed.
And we’ve seen you all come together like never before, telling our legislators that Minnesotans do
not
support this extreme abortion regime. We are abundantly grateful to God for your action against this bill and partnership in building a culture of life.
Even though the floor debate has already begun, our work as pro-life advocates isn't done yet.
Do we believe that prayer really is action? The truth is that prayer is the most powerful weapon we have
. Just consider the game-changing impact of Moses’ prayer up on the mountain as the army of Israel fought the Amalekites in the valley of Rephidim below (Exodus 17:8-13). So, we invite you to pray boldly with us today.
Pray
for pro-life Senators to winsomely and persuasively proclaim the truth about the humanity of the preborn and the harm that PRO Act poses to women and girls.
Pray
for pro-abortion Senators to be overcome with the reality that every life is precious, regardless of whether a child is "wanted" or not.
And most importantly,
pray
for God to intercede at our Capitol. Since prayer IS action, we urge you to join us in praying throughout the day "when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise" (Deut. 6:7).
We have heard reports that pro-life Senators are willing to fight for life all day and we may even see the battle continue into Saturday morning. Throughout the day, Minnesota Family Council will be bringing you updates on all our social media platforms. Follow us @mnfamilycouncil on

Keep praying boldly and remember that
faithfulness is never futile.
We know how the story ends and it is with this knowledge that we have great hope. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not overcome it” (John 1:5). So keep shining!
Podcast: Extreme PRO Act Harms Women, Girls, & Preborn Children | Ft. Renee Carlson
Renee Carlson of True North Legal joins Grace to discuss the many reasons why the PRO Act (SF1/HF1) and another bill — the “How To” of PRO Act — hurts women, girls, and preborn children. These dual threats would codify abortion up to live birth, repeal informed consent, parental notification, waiting periods, physician only laws, criminal penalties for illegal abortions, all accountability for abortion providers, Born Alive Infants Act, and all reporting requirements. This extreme abortion legislation would harm preborn children, women, and young girls. Get the facts, stand for LIFE!

Minnesota Legislature Considering Extreme Abortion and Infanticide Bill
By Patience Griswold
Last week the Minnesota House voted in favor of the “PRO” Act, a bill that creates a “right” to abortion up until birth in Minnesota. With the Senate debating this bill on the floor today,
another lethal abortion bill is quickly making its way through the Minnesota legislature.
HF 91
and its companion bill,
SF 70
,
acts as a “how to” for the PRO Act, moving from the broad “rights” language of HF 1 to specific abortion expansions. HF 91 would make Minnesota one of the most extreme abortion states in the nation, depriving unborn babies of any and all protections under law and even allowing infanticide.
In committee, the author of this extreme bill was asked “When is a baby a human?”
Representative Liebling dismissed this question
as “inflammatory rhetoric” and “completely irrelevant.” How can such a question be irrelevant to a bill that would deny babies the right to life up until and even after birth? Under current Minnesota law, medical providers
are required to give life-saving care to babies who survive abortions, because of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. HF 91 and SF 70 repeal that law, allowing medical professionals to leave babies to die of neglect on a metal table after botched abortions.
This is nothing less than legalized infanticide.

Many Christians are feeling called to step out in faith to address leaders regarding concerns they have within our public schools. If this is you, join us on February 11th at Grace Church.
In this timely workshop, Clint Elliott, attorney and longtime Compass partner, will help you develop tools to more effectively engage and persuade your School Board and others in leadership for positive change.
