Legislative Update

ABATE

This past week has been a very busy one! Last Friday, I met with Seibel Center and Crime Victims Resource Center about their funding needs and learned a little bit more about the incredible work they do.

This past weekend was the Plunging for Pink [ [link removed] ] in Austin. There are so many in our community who work so hard for a world without cancer. Next weekend is the Paint the Rink Pink with *Austin Bruins Hockey* [ [link removed] ], and I hope to see you there!

This Wednesday morning I attended the APEX meeting, and learned about a new clinic at Riverland called Althing Clinic [ [link removed] ] [ [link removed] ] that can provide telehealth services in nearly any language. What an amazing new service! We also learned that Welcome Week will be set for September 8-17. I look forward to the celebration!



Riverland

There were many constituents at the Capitol this week. On Wednesday, I met with local members of A.B.A.T.E (above) to talk about the issues that affect bikers across Minnesota.

Dani from Riverland came to visit this week as well, to talk about the Farm Business Management program (left).

I want to recognize some amazing accomplishments in our community! Blooming Prairie students Madison Thurnau and Sam Michaud earned Triple A Awards! Way to go, Madison and Sam, and keep up the amazing work!

Siblings Abby, Blake, and Katie earned their FFA degrees at Winter Leadership Day. Abby and Katie each earned medals as well!

Finally, I want to congratulate Austin Fire Department Commander Terry Peterson on his retirement! Commander Peterson has had an inspiring career and has kept countless people in our community safe throughout the years. Congratulations on your hard-earned retirement, and I wish you all the best!
