Dallas, TX – I hope you’ve been staying safe during the winter storm. As temperatures rise and our community begins to recover, please do not hesitate to contact my office if I can be of assistance. On Saturday, I had a productive meeting in Dallas with my Youth Advisory Council. I was impressed by their thoughtful debate on issues facing our community and their eagerness to continue learning more about our government. Thank you to everyone who joined me to honor our Texas-24 Congressional Veteran Commendation recipients. Our full photo album is available here. I currently serve on the RSC Budget and Spending Task Force. After hearing recent reports that President Biden is on track to miss the statutory deadline for submitting a Presidential Budget to Congress, I joined my colleagues in demanding answers for the American people. You can read our letter here. On Tuesday morning, the House Committee on Ways and Means held our first meeting of the 118th Congress. We are united in our commitment to take the nation in a new direction, one that trusts in American exceptionalism and works for a stronger, more economically secure future. This week, I was named Chairman of the Small Business Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Regulations. After hearing from North Texas fire and EMS departments who have struggled to fully staff their departments since President Biden's COVID-19 mandate to effect, I am pleased to share that I voted to end the mandate. You can watch my speech in support of the bill here. I had an informative discussion in my D.C. office with Dallas-area members of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
