Friends and neighbors,?

It?s hard to believe we?re already in month two. This week was another big week at the Capitol, and I?m excited to share our accomplishments with you. ?

It was an exciting evening last night, as the Minnesota House passed two important pieces of legislation. The Restore the Vote Act would restore voting rights to individuals convicted of a felony upon completion of incarceration.??

Currently, twenty-one other states, including our neighbor North Dakota, already restore voting rights upon release.?

Last night, we also voted to officially make Juneteenth a state holiday. The Governor signed the bill into law today. Other bill signings this week included the PRO Act (establishes reproductive healthcare as a fundamental right) and the CROWN Act (adds to the Minnesota Human Rights Act a definition of race that is inclusive of natural hair styles and textures.) It feels great knowing that we?re getting things done for Minnesotans, and it?s even better knowing that we?re not slowing down anytime soon. ?
