It's National Michigan Day!
From beautiful places to historic accomplishments, there are lots of things that make Michigan special.
For instance, did you know that Michigan is surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes -- giving us more shoreline than any other contiguous state? Or that we have 11,000 inland lakes and the country's only floating post office?
From building the world's first international vehicle tunnel to laying America's first mile of concrete road to installing the country's first four-way electric traffic light -- Michiganders are industrious, and our state is no stranger to leading the way.
Michigan was the first state to abolish the death penalty and the first state that voted to overturn prohibition. I couldn't be prouder to represent our great state in Congress, but outside Republican groups are spending heavily to influence MI-11's election.
On National Michigan Day, will you make a contribution to help me show national Republicans that our state is going BLUE in 2020?

When Donald Trump won Michigan by less than 11,000 votes in 2016, he flipped our state red for the first time in almost 30 years. That means Michigan will play a major role in this year's presidential election:
A second term for Donald Trump? Michigan is at the center of the political universe -- Detroit Free Press
Donald Trump and national Republicans are relying on Michigan staying red to secure Trump a second term -- that's why they're investing early in districts that flipped from red to blue like mine.
National Republican groups have spent $900,000 to try to unseat me, because they know flipping this district red would help Trump win Michigan. If you think the Great Lakes state should be blue, chip in to support my team's organizing efforts to hold MI-11 >>
