Dem AGs fight every single day for our environment. When they see an area where they can make an impact, they take action because they care about protecting the only planet we have.
It’s very well documented that lead pollution damages human health and the environment. Yet there are currently 200,000 piston-engine planes operating out of thousands of general aviation airports across the country that still use lead-containing transportation fuel, known as leaded aviation gasoline (or “avgas”).
The combustion of avgas is also the single largest contributor of airborne lead emissions in the United States — and the EPA reiterated that avgas endangers public health and welfare.
Thankfully, 12 Democratic attorneys general came together earlier this month to push for stronger rules to protect our communities.
When it comes to the air we breathe, we need AGs who aren’t afraid to fight for our health and safety, and Dem AGs have been on the forefront of ensuring that we all have access to clean air and water.
