The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 118th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week.
Impeaching Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas
This week, I filed a new and exhaustive article of impeachment against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. I was the first member of Congress to introduce articles of impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas in August 2021, after concluding that Secretary Mayorkas was in dereliction of his duties.
Every day Secretary Mayorkas remains in office America becomes less safe. Secretary Mayorkas is the chief architect of the migration and drug invasion at our southern border. His policies have incentivized more than 5 million illegal aliens to show up at our southern border—an all-time figure. Instead of enforcing the laws on the books and deporting or detaining these illegal aliens, the vast majority of them are released into the interior and never heard from again.
Thousands of pounds of drugs—including deadly fentanyl—continue to pour across the border unabated. Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45. A border fence and personnel could stop these drugs, but Secretary Mayorkas has halted all wall construction and pulled agents from the front lines.
It’s clear Secretary Mayorkas has committed high crimes and misdemeanors. His conduct is willful and intentional. He is not enforcing the law and is violating his oath of office.
For these reasons, Secretary Mayorkas should be impeached.
The impeachment resolution may be read here.
Cosponsors of the resolution include: Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Rep. Mary E. Miller (R-IL), Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Rep. House Oversight and Accountability Hearing on Federal Pandemic Spending
The House Oversight and Accountability Committee held a hearing titled Federal Pandemic Spending: A Prescription for Waste, Fraud, and Abuse.
Numerous reports by federal watchdogs and the media have found evidence of massive levels of waste, fraud, and abuse in Federal COVID-relief programs. Reports have estimated that as much as $560 billion in Federal COVID-relief funding may have been improperly paid out or lost.
The hearing examined government efforts to investigate waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in COVID-relief programs and determine what policies should be implemented to ensure federal funds go to their intended recipients.

House Judiciary Committee Hearing on the Biden Border Crisis
The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing titled The Biden Border Crisis: Part I.
I am grateful that Sheriff Mark Dannels from Cochise County came to D.C. to testify at the hearing about the impacts of Biden’s reckless policies on Arizona. His testimony and that of the other witnesses will be helpful as Congress considers how to deal with the crisis. Make no mistake, the border remains in shambles and has worsened each day under the leadership of President Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The hearing is one of many border-related hearings we will have in the 118th Congress. We will hold bad actors accountable and seek solutions to resecure our border.

Combating Big Tech and Big Government Collusion
Over the past two years, the Biden Administration has repeatedly and systematically silenced conservative voices. Censorship is an authoritarian tool used to keep power by censoring opposition – not to keep Americans safe.
This Administration coordinated with senior intelligence officials to ensure that the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop never see the light of day, least of all before an election.
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram removed a sitting President from their platforms for statements that did not incite violence, while Democrats can make the most inciting, factually incorrect statements with impunity.
And recently, DirecTV has removed the major conservative networks, OANN and Newsmax from its airwaves.
While I admit that these forums are not traditional public squares we know that the White House and Democrats routinely backchanneled with them to keep Americans in the dark. Why? Because the truth hurts. To this Administration, to this regime, opposing ideas are dangerous.

My America First Contract
House Republicans will need to immediately reverse the Democrats’s disastrous policies to get our country back in good shape.
My America First Contract is an outline to reduce inflation and strengthen the economy, secure our border, restore transparency and parental choice in education, reduce violent crime and preserve the rule of law, restore election integrity, break up Big Tech, put America First in foreign, energy, and trade policies, and reinstate good government practices.
In addition to achieving these eight goals, the plan calls on conducting enhanced oversight and using available leverages to stop the abuse of power from President Biden in 2023. I will introduce legislation supporting each area of the plan within the first 100 days of the next Congressional term and will work with my colleagues to bring that legislation up for consideration in the House.
The full contract may be read here.
Alien Invasion Border Documentary
Check out my border documentary titled Alien Invasion. The 30-minute documentary features footage from private ranches along the border, the Darien Gap in Panama, and interviews with members of Congress, Border Patrol, local and state law enforcement, and much more. It addresses how President Biden’s border crisis began, its consequences, and solutions to address the crisis.

Top Op-Ed of the Week
I wrote a column for Newsweek arguing why DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas must be impeached by the 118th Congress.
The case against Alejandro Mayorkas, the author of America's ongoing and unrelenting border crisis, does not necessarily turn on whether Mayorkas has actually committed a statutorily defined black-letter crime. It is whether he has committed a "high crime" as that term is understood under the U.S. Constitution.
Historically, mere gross incompetence has been used as a basis to deem a president or Cabinet secretary worthy of impeachment. And this is precisely why I filed articles of impeachment against Mayorkas this week.

Definition of the Week
This week, President Biden tweeted, “On my watch, the great American road trip is going to be fully electrified. And now, through a tax credit, you can get up to $7,500 on a new electric vehicle.”
Sounds great on the surface. The only problem? President Biden tweeted this posing with a $110,000 electric Hummer—a vehicle that is not eligible for this tax credit.
The Biden Administration continues to push EVs (Electric Vehicles) but they are too expensive seeing that the average median income for a family in the United States is about $70,000, and the average cost of a new EV is $66,000. These vehicles also produce more environmental and human rights issues.
Inspired by Biden, here is the definition of the week:
