The New York Times: 2023's Biggest, Most Unusual Race Centers on Abortion and Democracy

"The election for a swing seat on Wisconsin’s Supreme Court … will determine the fate of abortion rights, gerrymandered legislative maps … and perhaps even influence the state’s 2024 presidential election."

This is urgent: Experts are calling the Wisconsin Supreme Court election the most high-stakes race of 2023 – and it’s coming up in just a matter of weeks.

We cannot afford to ignore this race. The outcome will have huge consequences for issues like:

● Whether Wisconsin conservatives will be allowed to enforce an abortion ban that was passed before the Civil War.

● Whether the court will uphold maps that are so gerrymandered, Republicans nearly won supermajorities in both chambers in the legislature – despite Democrats winning the statewide vote for governor!

● And, crucially, whether Republican lawmakers can ignore the will of Wisconsin voters by overturning the state’s 2024 presidential election results.

Republicans have already started pouring cash into Wisconsin – and experts are predicting this could become the most expensive state supreme court contest in U.S. history!
