Friend,
Freezing temperatures. Bitter winds. Damp clothes. Winter makes everything harder.
And for children who are already struggling from the effects of war, displacement, rising food and fuel prices and climate disasters — the effects of winter can be deadly. During these cold winter months, UNICEF is ramping up the distribution of emergency supplies and services to help families survive.
Now is the time when winter temperatures are quickly plummeting and UNICEF must be able to continue delivering relief to key risk areas. This includes Pakistan, where homes destroyed by flooding leave children exposed to the elements and without decent shelter. And Ukraine, where attacks on infrastructure are destroying energy and water supply systems, leaving children and their families without heat, hot water or electricity. |
UNICEF teams are responding quickly to meet the growing needs of children caught in the cold. With supply kits packed with essential items like warm clothing and blankets, UNICEF is delivering support so children can find relief and warmth this winter.
While these supplies seem like simple necessities, they have the potential to help save lives. Stay tuned to your inbox early next week for an opportunity to send a winter care package to children most in need of support during the cold winter months.
