John, this is an urgent update on the continuing fight to keep Social Security and Medicare alive with the current Republican House majority.

They are now considering deep cuts to everything that we need to continue living in an already restrictive economic situation. That means not only retirement benefits, but healthcare, education, and all the things the lower and middle-class rely on to stay ahead of drowning in expenses.

According to the Washington Post:
“We have no choice but to make hard decisions,” said Rep. Kevin Hern (R-Okla.), the leader of the Republican Study Committee, a bloc of more than 160 conservative lawmakers that endorsed raising the retirement age and other changes last year. “Everybody has to look at everything.”

The GOP will say anything to divert us from this fact, but they have been on record over and over stating that they WILL be coming for the lifelines we depend on. This is URGENT. WE have to stop them. We need to get the message out, put the pressure on, and halt this newest scheme to steal from the American people. Please, chip in today as this CANNOT wait.
