I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being a part of this historic moment here at CitizenGO. 

It’s truly a remarkable accomplishment that we should all take a moment to be proud of before we continue the fight ahead. Because, you, alongside 1.5 million CitizenGOers around the world, answered the call to action after Netflix crossed a clear line by hosting ‘Porta dos Fundos’ blasphemous The First Temptation of Christ on their streaming platform... 

We just cleared our goal of 1,500,000 signatures!

The sad truth is that what Netflix CEO Reed Hastings saw as a comedy, in fact, left millions around the world feeling humiliated during a season that is meant to celebrate the birth of our living savior Jesus Christ. 

You responded, and now because of that, today, we took the first giant step in our campaign to put Reed Hastings on notice that we are not amused with this so-called “Christmas comedy” which depicts Jesus Christ as a homosexual, His disciples as alcoholics and unruly, and the Blessed Virgin Mary as an adulterer…

Your signature and the signature of those who signed the petition with you were just packaged up and shipped directly to the desk of Reed Hastings. 

This is what over 1,500,000 signatures look like! 

The cover letter to the petition made it very clear to Reed Hastings -- we’re not going away! 

Though this is the largest petition in CitizenGO history, our only goal is to win and to make it very clear to movie studios and producers that our savior Jesus Christ is not the butt of their joke.  

This petition has created such a buzz that a judge in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil agreed when Judge Benedicto Abicair ordered Netflix to take the film down. Sadly, a few hours later the Brazilian Supreme Court overturned the decision. 

Additionally, many reports made available to us indicate that our protest is the subject of conversation in strategy meetings and around the building.

So, we can’t just remain excited to have created a petition with over 1.5 million signatures and proud to have caused a temporary commotion. Again, our goal is to win and to do that we are going to need some additional help from you.
