Hello from St. Paul,
?
Despite the nearly daily reports or controversial topics being approved by the Democrat majority in the Minnesota House, there are several provisions moving forward this session that would be positive for rural Minnesota.
?
It?s difficult not to be disappointed with some of the bills being passed by the majority on the House floor, but residents should know I am working on several bills behind the scenes that would be beneficial for our communities.
?
In K-12 Education, legislation is moving forward that would be important for Fairmont area schools and students who aren?t able to take specific classes in their current school districts. Infrastructure improvement proposals have also been introduced for Blue Earth and Madelia, and numerous ag-related bills are also under consideration.
?
In addition, both temporary and permanent funding sources are being examined for the Small Cities Assistance Program, which helps small towns with their local road repair needs.
?
I?m hopeful that by session?s end, we will have made good progress on all of these topics and will have some positive outcomes for Greater Minnesota.
?
Have a good weekend,
?
Bjorn
