John, Rep. Ilhan Omar has been kicked off committee assignment whereas the insurrectionist supporter Marjorie Taylor Greene sits on Homeland Security.

Yesterday, in a blatant move to punish his political rivals and appease the MAGA base he had to bargain with to win Speakership, McCarthy put forward the vote to remove Representative Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee. The vote ultimately passed directly along party lines 218 to 211. Omar has often been targeted by the likes of Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene, but persistent islamophobia and racism are now a core part of McCarthy's House.

And while the GOP says the intentions are to curb and denounce antisemitism, we know full well that they've embraced white nationalism and neo-Nazis. The now-infamous tweet from the House Judiciary account reading "Kanye. Elon. Trump." was published by none other than Jim Jordan. This post remained on the feed long after Kanye West made blatantly antisemitic remarks. 

Our efforts to take back the House are full speed ahead. We know that this is only the beginning of McCarthy's vengeance rule and he will take every chance to derail legislation and positive change.
