Dear Neighbors,
Things are progressing in St. Paul as we have now officially wrapped up the first month of the 2023 legislative session. I continue to work hard to represent our Northland and the Iron Range here in the House of Representatives.
Below is a rundown of a few local bills I am working on this year.
House File 925: appropriates funding for planning, predesign, design, engineering, and environmental analysis and remediation of expansion of U.S. Highway 169 from a two-lane to a four-lanehighway between Taconite and Pengilly.
House 513: appropriates $3 million for Floodwood to design and construct improvements to the city?s water and sewer infrastructure.
House File 511: this legislation would appropriate funding to the City of Hibbing for the construction of a regional public safety center. The center would be for police, fire, emergency medical services, emergency operations, and other regional community needs.
I will keep you updated on these bills as they move through the legislative process. It is important that we provide for the basic infrastructure and public safety needs of Minnesotans. This is a core function of state government.
