I want to thank each and every one of you for investigating the destructive, anti-democratic Capitol Insurrection that occurred on January 6th, 2021, as well as holding accountable the culprits behind that fateful day – Donald Trump and his far‑right mob.

I can still remember the moment I first saw the chaos and violence happening in the Capitol on January 6th.

As a voter who values our American democracy, I was horrified at the so‑called “patriots” who tried to overthrow our government.

But then, your work on the January 6th Committee showed us all the true definition of patriotism.

You refused to let insurrectionists get away with their crimes on our democracy and our nation.

You broadcast your groundbreaking hearings on national television to spread the truth to millions of Americans who have been fed misinformation by Fox News and the far‑right.

Most importantly, you all chose to stand up for democracy and justice, even when it meant sacrificing your political careers to do the right thing.

I am truly saddened that MAGA Republicans forced your investigation to end, but I hope that I have not seen the last of your work to defend our democracy.

We will always be grateful for your service to our country. Thank you.
