Ongoing closure of the A52 *********between QMC roundabout and Priory roundabout - westbound only*********

*******Due to Cadent Gas upgrade works along Derby Road the westbound lane (leaving the city) on the A52 at QMC roundabout is closed until mid-March. The eastbound lane (heading towards the city) will remain open throughout.

National Highways have specified a route diversion via the A6005 and Woodside Road to Priory roundabout. The diversion route will be signposted. Parking on Woodside Road suspended.

These works are causing some delays to buses, including the Medilink.

*??Cadent Gas works programme: Monday 9 January to Summer 2023 ??*

Cadent Gas are replacing old gas mains with new versions across Sherwood, Bulwell, Bulwell Forest, Mapperley and Bestwood. Works will involve Temporary Traffic Signals, Lane Closures & Road Closures. Access will always be maintained.

Linking up City Centre Cycling Routes??

??‍♀️ Works have kicked off at the Station Street/London Road junction on the latest phase of our City Centre Cycle routes, linking the east and west of the city with safe segregated cycling infrastructure.

Various, mainly off-peak lane closures will be required throughout the project as we complete the project to join the segregated cycleways nearby and install marked on road cycle lanes through the junction, improve pedestrian crossing facilities and more.

Colwick Country Park Access Improvements

The scheme includes a new multiuser path adjacent to Racecourse Road and widening/resurfacing of the existing paths around the southern and eastern edge of the West Lake. Read more here [ [link removed] ]. 

*The park will remain open* during construction and the works will be delivered in phases. Work commenced Tuesday 20 September and is expected to *last 18 weeks.*

From the end of January, through to the end of March further improvements will be carried out to the bridle path in Colwick Country Park running clockwise around West Lake.

Streets for People road resurfacing and footpath repair programme
streets or people progress

We’re now four months into the Levelling-Up funded Streets for People programme, and many improvements have been made so far.

Across all twenty wards, our transport team are:


* Upgrading pavements and walkways to make them safer.
* Making repairs to roads and cycle paths to help improve traffic flow and safety.

Nottingham wraps up UK-first wireless electric charging trial

⚡ Our four-month wireless electric taxi charging trial with Cenex [ [link removed] ] at the rank on Trent Street has come to an end! 

A huge thank you to all the taxi drivers who got involved and have given feedback. All the data and comments will go back to the Government's Office for Zero Emission Vehicles to help in the planning of the next generation of wireless charging technology for vehicles like ambulances, taxis and more.

The trial infrastructure will be removed this week and the east side of the road will become a normal taxi rank again. Read more.  [ [link removed] ]

£2 single bus fare on all Nottingham buses January-March 2023

Get around for £2 this winter! From *1 January to 31 March*, a single bus journey will cost no more than £2 on most routes across England, thanks to the government’s Help for Households campaign. All local bus operators in Nottingham are taking part in the scheme.
