This week, Pope Francis is leading a crucial visit to South Sudan in his continuing effort to help bring peace to the country.
As the world’s ‘newest’ country, the people of South Sudan have lived through more than a decade of instability and continued conflict. Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and millions more have been forced to flee their homes to escape the violence.
Pope Francis is travelling to South Sudan with leaders from the Church of England and the Church of Scotland to call for an end to the conflict and pray for peace.
Peace is crucial. It’s only possible for people to flourish in times of peace. With your prayers, we can stand alongside families in South Sudan who are suffering through no fault of their own.
