**CareerCenter December Hiring Events and Services**

MAINE - Are you a job seeker and not sure what the next step in your career is, or an employer looking to expand your workforce? The Maine Department of Labor's CareerCenters, together with their partners, offer many services to help people find employment or upgrade skills, and help employers find qualified workers.

**Virtual Workshop: Laid off? Learn about programs to get you back to work!**

Have you been impacted by business closures, reduced hours, or seasonal lay offs? Are you tired of bouncing between seasonal jobs and want to find more stability? Do you need assistance navigating the next steps towards a job or career? Join us to learn more about how we can help you with employment, training and various support services to eligible applicants to meet your employment goals.

**Virtual Statewide Workshop: Preparing For Your Virtual Interview**

Monthly 2nd and 4th Fridays from 910:30 a.m.

You receive a call from a hiring manager asking to schedule an interview - then you find out it's virtual. Today, the majority of interviews conducted are with the use of real-time video using technology such as Zoom and Teams.

This 90-minute virtual workshop offered by the Maine CareerCenters covers tips and strategies for succeeding with your virtual interview, connecting virtually, preparing for your virtual environment, and give you an opportunity to practice mock interviewing through the use of virtual breakout sessions.

Prerequisite for this workshop: A current Maine JobLink account. If you need assistance with creating a Maine JobLink account, please contact [email protected].

Each of the centers across the state provides public computers with internet access, Microsoft Office, resume/cover letter writing software, and https://www.onetonline.org/" target="_blank">O*Net software for personal skills assessment. Employers can list their open positions on Maine JobLink and use our online system which matches jobs with candidates. All CareerCenter services are provided at no charge to employers and job seekers. Veterans and eligible spouses receive priority of service in all Department of Labor programs.
