Good morning.

I wanted to send a quick note to ask you to make a donation to my campaign before your day gets too busy. Before I ask, I want to share why your support matters so much today.

On Thursday, my Senate colleagues and I were sworn in for the impeachment trial. It was a historic and solemn day for our country, but it is one that we could not avoid in good conscience if we care about our democracy.

It is my promise that I will uphold my constitutional duty as a juror. I will seek to follow the facts wherever they lead — recognizing that I may have to fight my own colleagues guided by Senator McConnell to get to the truth. But I believe the American people deserve answers, and the only way we will get to the truth is through a fair trial in the Senate.

No matter how long it takes, the pursuit of truth and a fair trial will be my focus. However, that means there will be less time for me to worry about fundraising during the impeachment trial. But we still have fundraising goals that we need to hit to make sure we win this race. So I’m asking for your help today.
