Team — A new year brings a new election cycle and new campaigns to further our fight for social, racial, and economic justice into 2023 and beyond. 

As February begins, we commemorate Black History Month — we look back on the legacies of Black leaders who laid the critical groundwork for the progress that we continue to fight for today. 

This month and always, we honor the Black Americans that came before us. Those that dedicated their lives to progressive movements of the past, present, and future. We celebrate and stand with them in the fight for racial justice. 

The landmark moments of the Civil Rights Era that hold a special place in history books can feel just like that — history. But while we reflect on these historic moments, it’s important to acknowledge that the fight for equality continues on here and now.

From widespread voter suppression laws to a desperate need for police reform in America, our fight for social, racial, and economic equality continues — and we’re using the ballot box to make that happen. 

So as Black History Month begins, we are taking this moment to recommit to our work to bring workers livable wages, expand health care access, guarantee paid leave policies for workers, reform policing, and continue our fight to keep the ballot box accessible to all — one ballot measure at a time.
