Power the Vote is launching the Blue Texas
project to fight + fund everywhere!
Hey John ,
Two years ago, the Texas grid failed – and 4.5 million Texas homes and businesses lost power. Hundreds of people died. The grid failure caused at least $195 billion in property damage. (Wow.)
You’d think this would be a wake-up call and something would change.
But here we are, two years later. It’s Groundhog Day – another winter storm, more Texas communities without power, more calls for action and responsibility.
Republicans have made a lot of promises about weatherizing the grid, but they’ve delivered on absolutely none of them.
The reason for that is, Republicans are more accountable to their energy company donors than they are to everyday Texans.
And frankly, they like it that way.
Texas Republicans use gerrymandering and voter suppression to keep voters from the polls. That means fewer Democrats run for office in gerrymandered districts – and more Republicans coast to victory without even facing a challenger.
So every Groundhog day, we get the same corrupt Republican leadership, and we relive the same nightmare.
Enough is enough.
We’re launching Blue Texas to put an end to this vicious cycle – and we want you to be part of it.
Our grassroots community makes sure that every Democratic nominee for state legislature has resources to fight. We use a “bottom-up bathtub” method of funding, where we provide help first to those nominees who need it the most. And, we fund voter protection efforts right here in Texas, to empower voters to hold Republicans accountable

By joining Blue Texas, you can make sure Republicans aren’t rewarded for their bad behavior – and instead have to answer for it. While being part of a great grassroots movement that’s revolutionizing how we fight and fund Democrats everywhere.
It’s easy to join. Just click the button above, choose how much you want to kick in each month (the average is $14, but you choose your own adventure), and pat yourself on the back for starting the work NOW to fight in 2024.
We don’t have to relive the same tragedies, the same neglect, and the same nightmares year after year. But nothing changes until we make it change. And we can – together .
We hope you join our Blue Texas community!
Kim
P.S. Remember that ½ of what you kick in each month goes directly into Texas’s only permanent voter protection program. The other ½ goes to Democratic nominees. Blue Texas doesn’t take a cut. We rely on tips to grow and support the program. So, if you’re able, we’d sure appreciate you leaving one.
P.P.S. Questions? Excellent. Just reply to this email. We’re real folks on the other end, and one of us will respond.

We Fund Voter Protection
Republicans have the one-two punch of voter suppression and gerrymandering. Blue Texas is the counterpunch.
We're a community that boosts both a consistent, year-round voter protection army and Democratic nominees for Texas state legislature.
