Hey Friend, Next week is a HUGE WEEK, y’all! Legislative Session kicks off in Nevada on MONDAY, and we’re chock-full of opportunities to learn and get ready for all the fireworks in Carson City this spring. Starting on Tuesday, February 7th at 5 p.m., we’ll be kicking off our Progressive University season with a session from our very own Deputy Director Maria-Teresa on the Art of Powermapping. This tool is VITAL to knowing who’s who in Carson City, and how to make YOUR voice heard to those who need to hear it. SIGN UP HERE to join us! The next day, you can catch Annette Magnus, and leaders from Nevada’s environmental community for Nevada Conservation League’s “The Road Ahead,” on Wednesday, February 8th at 5:30 p.m., as they discuss the Legislative Session and how we’ll protect the progress we’ve made and continue fighting for a clean, healthy, and just future. Don’t miss out! We’ll also be back to our REGULARLY SCHEDULED programming each Thursday on “Out In Front” with Annette! This week, Annette will LITERALLY be “Out In Front” of the Nevada Legislature. You can watch on Facebook, YouTube, or Twitch on Thursday at 5 p.m.! What can you expect from the coming legislative session? It’s sure to be fiery given Governor Lombardo’s State of the State preview. We are prepared to tell him “No way, Joe!” when it comes to vouchers that take public money out of already underfunded public schools. In addition, we won’t allow him to take us backward given our progress on criminal justice reform and voting rights. Our plan is to defend K-12 schools, teachers, voting rights, access to healthcare, and MORE. Friend, that’s where you come in! We need at the upcoming Progressive University session happening this week to learn all about making a difference in the legislative session! This is where the true work comes in and this is how we make sure Lombardo does NOT take us backward. THANK YOU for all of your support and we’ll see you this week!
