February is here and it offers yet another chance to pander to a special interest group. In case you haven’t heard, February is Black History Month.

My name is Willie Montague and I’m writing to you today about the Frederick Douglass PAC. The aim of the PAC is to not only increase engagement of Black people in the Conservative movement but also to help some of the most viable Black candidates in this nation win their races.

WHAT WOULD FREDERICK DOUGLASS SAY ABOUT TODAY’S BLACK HISTORY MONTH AND IDENTITY POLITICS?

I believe if Douglass were alive today, he would be disappointed that Black Americans had a “month” to celebrate their history. Frederick Douglass would not believe in “identity politics” and supported the unifying respect for the U.S. Constitution, personal responsibility and every Americans’ right to pursue independent economic prosperity. All of those beliefs are at odds with the messaging that today’s Black Americans receive from Democrats.

Today, Black people are told that they are separate and different from White Americans in numerous negative ways. They are told that they are not capable of advancing on their own merits and only LEFTIST DEMOCRATS can protect their best interests.

However, I’m here to remind you that the original civil rights activists were promoting a message to Black people that the principles of human equality and self-determination are God-given and unalienable. It was a message that was well received in the Black community but since the 60’s and 70’s, Democrats have sought to unravel that and enslave Black people once again into their service.

BLACK PEOPLE ARE MORE CONSERVATIVE THAN THEY REALIZE! WE JUST NEED THE PROPER OUTREACH TO MAKE SURE THEY VOTE THAT WAY!

That’s why we must unify the Republican party and bring in and engage Black people in the Conservative movement. By getting Conservative Black candidates elected and engaging Black voters, we will guarantee majorities in future elections and won’t have to worry about getting the wall built on the Southern Border or protecting the sanctity of life.

The Frederick Douglass PAC hopes to educate, empower and equip candidates with the tools they need to win their races, and part of that strategy is connecting with Black voters who many times don't vote or simply vote Democrat due to having done so their whole lives.

Up until now, Republicans have not done much to bring Black people under the GOP tent and we have got to change that if we are going to make a difference.
