Heritage Expert Applauds House Votes to End COVID Emergency, Vaccine Mandate - House lawmakers were following sound policy and real science by formally ending the COVID national medical emergency. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported that high levels of vaccine and natural immunity have substantially reduced the risk of several illness, hospitalization, and death. “They also are right to end any coercive mandates from the federal government with regards to the COVID vaccine. Americans should make that decision with their doctors, not to comply with a federal whim. Heritage Expert: Bob Moffit

Project 2025 Announces the Launch of the Presidential Administration Academy   - In these videos, experts that served in prior administrations provide insight on day-one implementation plans for conservatives to govern effectively. Heritage President Speaks to Media on Biden-McCarthy Debt Limit Negotiations - There's a really good opportunity for the speaker today to discuss with the president the problems of the Federal Reserve's role in the debt limit. In essence, we need to be able to limit the amount of debt that the Federal Reserve incurs on behalf of the American people so that Congress, and the executive branch fittingly in regular order, can have, dare I say, more mature conversations about the policy moving forward. Russia violating New START nuclear arms treaty, U.S. allegesAfter Russia violated the INF Treaty and the Open Skies Treaty, today the State Department announced that Russia is in non-compliance with New START—the last remaining arms control agreement. Russia has once again demonstrated its disregard for the rules-based order and that it cannot be trusted to abide by any arms control agreement. The U.S. should make clear that it will only negotiate with faithful partners, and that a Russian failure to return to compliance with New START will jeopardize Russia’s interest in negotiating a follow-on treaty. 5 Things to Know About Nancy Abudu, Leftist SPLC Lawyer Biden Tapped for 11th Circuit - Committee member Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, slammed Abudu as “entirely unfit to serve” and as a “partisan activist,” as demonstrated by her affiliation with the SPLC. “Again, the Biden administration has nominated a partisan activist to a post rather than a sound-minded jurist,” Cruz told The Daily Signal in an email statement. “Nancy Abudu’s extremist views permeate every facet of her career as she and the SPLC actively work to denounce and demean conservatives, religious organizations, and even sitting members of the Judiciary Committee.” Heritage Expert: Tyler O’Neil

The Constitution Created the District of Columbia and Only the Constitution Can Make It a State - Congress does not have the authority to statutorily alter the size or status of “The District constituting the seat of Government of the United States” without a constitutional amendment. This is the consistent position—until recently—of both advocates for District suffrage and of Justice Departments of both political parties. Despite claims to the contrary, the Twenty-Third Amendment, which granted District residents the right to participate in the election of the President and Vice President, strengthens the argument that transforming the bulk of the current District of Columbia into a new state would require a constitutional amendment. Claims to the contrary are unavailing and fly in the face of the text, structure, and history of the Constitution. Heritage Expert: Zack Smith and Thomas Jipping

White House ‘cleansing’ of El Paso akin to 1936 Berlin Olympics - Some have compared the cleansing in El Paso, Texas, before President Biden’s border visit to the fake villages that Grigory Potemkin is said to have set up along a route traveled by Catherine the Great. Those fake villages were intended to fool Catherine by hiding the truly horrible conditions. The more apt comparison is to the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, which, like what happened in El Paso with the full knowledge of the president and his advisers, was designed to fool the public. Getting Serious About Responsible Defense Spending - Today’s Pentagon is approaching a 13-figure annual budget. Congress needs to put away its kid gloves and put the Department of Defense and other agencies alike under the knife to excise wasteful spending. It is a top priority to save our nation, particularly the next generation, from the yoke of debt and an unaccountable, over-funded federal bureaucracy. Heritage Expert: Maiya Clark
