Click Here to Keep NewsMax On DirectTV! Tell the Chief Executive Officers at AT&T and DirecTV to Not Cancel NewsMax!

It’s time for us to speak up and take action against the recent censorship imposed by AT&T's decision to remove Newsmax from its DirectTV lineup. DirecTV refuses to offer NewsMax a subscriber fee, even though DirecTV gives millions of dollars to lower-rating, left-wing channels such as Vice.

By restricting our access to a variety of voices and opinions, DirecTV is acting against the best interest of its customers.

U.S. Senators Ted Cruz, Lindsay Graham, Mike Lee, and Tom Cotton have demanded an explanation from AT&T and DirecTV.

"It has been alleged that DirecTV pays substantial sums to numerous channels that are politically left-of-center, even when those channels have substantially lower ratings than Newsmax. And, it has been alleged that DirecTV refused to pay any net sums whatsoever to Newsmax—and expressly stated that it never would pay any net sums to Newsmax—even though explicitly liberal stations with substantially fewer viewers were receiving millions of dollars from DirecTV. One of those stations allegedly paid by DirecTV, the unabashedly left-wing channel Vice, is partially owned by TPG, and two TPG partners serve on Vice’s board."

According to NEWMAX's petition, "NEWSMAX is the only real conservative channel that brings its viewers full coverage of Congress, the White House, and politics – as well as other live coverage of voices like President Trump. Now they're claiming to put a small conservative channel very few people watch – one with no ratings – to replace NEWSMAX. AT&T Direct TV, is falsely claiming this is a money issue and that it’s seeking to save subscribers' money by dropping NEWSMAX. This is a phony claim. It only costs AT&T DirectTV about $1 per customer per year to carry NEWSMAX. That’s nothing compared to the $2.7 billion profit DirecTV made last year. It’s clear Direct TV is seeking to muzzle conservative voices because there will be presidential elections in 2024. DirecTV still carries 22 liberal news channels – and DirecTV pays all of them big license fees!"

Our nation was founded on the principle that all citizens should have a say in matters of public interest. As news outlets become further concentrated in fewer hands, it becomes increasingly difficult for people with unpopular or dissenting views to voice their opinion – no matter how informed or reasoned it may be. This kind of censorship ultimately harms us all by essentially locking some voices out from being heard.

That’s why I urge you to take action now and email the CEOs of AT&T, TPG, and DirecTV, the heads of the companies that control DirectTV, and tell them to reverse their decision to remove NEWSMAX.

DirecTv, AT&T, and TPG should not be allowed to dictate which news outlets we can and cannot consume – it’s up to us as citizens to decide which media sources best inform us on current events and political discussions.
