A Day with the Kickapoo Tribe
I was near Eagle Pass last Wednesday where I joined the Kickapoo Tribe for the opening of the first school ever built on the reservation. Prior to this school, students took a 15-mile bus drive to Eagle Pass schools.
The Kickapoo Tribal Student Service Center is a state-of-the-art facility that will provide educational opportunity for the Kickapoo Tribe for generations to come. In future years, they plan to build out the school to the 12th grade.
I had such a great time visiting with teachers, parents and the students. They couldn't wait to start school the next day.
