Iowa is the first contest of this primary and every one of our opponents is pumping money into the state. If we can't keep up, we simply won't be able to compete.

But as we're pouring every single resource we have into Iowa, we have to keep an eye on our "cash on hand."

We have to report our fundraising numbers at the end of every month now, and reporting a low number in the bank -- our cash on hand to spend -- would show weakness at a time where it's critical that we stand strong.
