Hello Virginia Democrats!

Happy Black History Month!

During Black History Month, we are reminded of the sacrifices made and victories won by Black Virginians that have made this Commonwealth what it is today.

The Democratic Party of Virginia has always committed itself to electing candidates that believe in the inviolable dignity of Black communities and work to empower those communities every day.

We will also continue to push for criminal justice reform, better schools and public education in Virginia’s predominantly Black and Brown neighborhoods and school districts, bring high quality and good paying jobs to regions that need it most, and continue to be an inclusive party that reflects the values of our voters.

Our Democrats in Congress and the General Assembly are working tirelessly to pass progressive policy reforms, and block policies that negatively impact Black Virginians.

From the decriminalization of marijuana, to abolishing the death penalty, to passing criminal justice reforms , Virginia Democrats have worked to remove racist Jim Crow-era policies and laws from the books. But we have so much farther to go.

It is crucial to elect candidates that recognize the need for change and are eager to do the work. Voting serves as one of the most impactful forms of advocacy.
