Action Alert

Dear John,

Cutting methane pollution and waste from the oil and gas industry is a fast and cost-effective way to slow the rate of climate change and protect communities from dangerous air pollution.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has an opportunity to slash emissions from methane - a potent greenhouse gas - to help limit the devastating impacts of climate change in the coming decades while also helping communities near these facilities that suffer from toxic air pollution. Over 4.5 million Midwesterners live within a half-mile of an oil and gas site or equipment. But the EPA needs to hear from you.

Take Action Now: Tell EPA to #CutMethane

The EPA is now taking comments on a proposed rule that improves upon a proposal released last year to address methane and other dangerous pollutants from the oil & gas industry. While this supplemental proposal is better, there are ways it can be strengthened.

This is where we need you. By submitting a public comment, you can let EPA know that we need to do more to slash methane pollution, not only for our health but also for our climate. We need the Biden administration to use all of its authority to quickly enact strong solutions for pollution to meet the President’s climate, public health, and environmental justice commitments.

Take action TODAY and urge the EPA to enact the strongest possible protections against methane pollution before the February 13 deadline.

Thank you for your support.
